The Part of the Yard That Gives It Shape
Georgia clay moves, and it moves anything built on it poorly. Good hardscaping is mostly what's underneath — the excavation, the base, the drainage — and then the pavers, stone or block you actually see.
We build patios, front walks, steps, retaining walls, fire-pit areas and driveway aprons across Milton and North Atlanta, with a base that's built to last.
Hardscaping That Solves Real Problems
Three things homeowners tell us most often about their current space, and how we solve each one.
BeforeThe Problem
A Sloped Yard You Can't Use?
The backyard falls away from the house, and there's nowhere flat to put a table.
Our Solution
Terrace It With Retaining Walls
Engineered block or natural stone walls with proper drainage behind them, creating a level patio and a usable lawn where there used to be a hill.
After
BeforeThe Problem
Pavers That Heave and Sink?
A patio laid on an inch of sand over clay. Now it's a tripping hazard.
Our Solution
Rebuilt on a Real Base
Excavated to depth, a compacted crushed-stone base, edge restraint and polymeric sand — so the surface stays flat through freeze, thaw and August.

BeforeThe Problem
A Front Entry That Lets the House Down?
A cracked concrete walk and two plain steps leading to a beautiful front door.
Our Solution
A Walk and Steps That Match the House
Pavers or flagstone, wider than the old walk, with proper steps and low lighting, sized and detailed to suit the front of your home.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hardscaping in Milton
What's the difference between a good patio and a cheap one?
Mostly the base. A patio on six inches of compacted stone with proper edging stays flat for decades; one on a skim of sand over clay starts moving within a year. We build the first kind.
Do retaining walls need engineering?
Walls over four feet generally do, and an engineer is brought in when they do. Below that, the right base, drainage and batter matter more than anything.
How long does hardscaping take?
A patio is usually about a week on site; a terraced backyard with walls, steps and a patio runs two to four.
Can you fix drainage problems at the same time?
Yes — French drains, channel drains and regrading are often part of the job, because a water problem is usually why the yard isn't being used.
